PC Gamer Weekender 2018

Well we’re off to London’s Olympia tomorrow for the 2018 PC Gamer Weekender! According to the press release:

The PC Gamer Weekender played on OMEN by HP is returning to London Olympia next weekend. With access to new pre-release PC games, exclusive developer presentations, tournaments, workshops, careers advice and even an exclusive OMEN by HP eSports Bootcamp, it is a must for any PC gaming fan.

PC Gamer Weekender 2018 Stage Talks

I’m hoping to catch Julian Gollop’s talk about Phoenix Point. I mention I’m a top-tier backer of the Phoenix Point Fig campaign in out 2017 roundup, so am very interested in how this game is shaping up. I’ll be playing it on the day so we’ll see if my money went to the right place! The full schedules can be found here: PC Gamer Stage and Developer Stage.

Over 40 PC games all under one roof

The PC Gamer Weekender was always a place to check out indie PC titles, and this year they seem to have added some retro PC games. If you follow the site or the channel you’ll know we’re pretty keen on the old stuff. I’ve seen Star Wars: Dark Forces is playable on the day and I dare say I’ll fire it up for a stage or two. Half-Life is also up there and I never turn that game down. Some of the more modern titles include some pretty cool first UK  playables like Biomutant and Phoenix Point, both of which I’ll be looking to have a blast on. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is up there but as we’re total Warhammer nerds here (lol), Raff’s already signed up to the beta. There’s a bunch of other stuff up there too like  Guns of Icarus: Alliance, SpellForce 3, Metamorph Dungeon Creatures and Puyo Puyo™ Tetris®. For the full list of playable games click here.

Other PC Gamer Weekender 2018 stuff

There’s a eSports masterclass sponsored by OMEN by HP, focusing on Overwatch, if you’re keen. Full details here. There’s also some PC building workshops which might work for you if you’re looking to upgrade or build a machine for the first time. More here. As usual with UK gaming events, there’s ‘Get into Games’ sessions, offering advice for anyone looking to start a career in the games industry. They’ll be running prize tournaments all weekend and there’s now an arcade with a bunch of old machines and games consoles. Good to see my old mate Andy at Replay is getting business! See you there, nerds.

PC Gamer Weekender tickets start at just £12.99 from http://weekender.pcgamer.com.
